What are databases?
Databases are organized collections of information available to users online via a subscription purchased by a local library/libraries. Databases provide the user with authoritative and reliable sources on a wide range of subjects in a number of useful formats including full-text newspaper, magazine, and encyclopedia articles as well as primary sources, images, abstracts, and indexes.
Seaford School District patrons now have access to a wide variety of databases online. Online databases are computerized collections of information, indexed for easy retrieval. The information in databases is generally not available free on the Internet and is usually more reliable and authoritative since it has been produced or selected and edited by people with relevant subject expertise.
All Seaford databases, with the exception of Ancestry.com Library Edition and Alldata, may be accessed from home using a valid Seaford Public Library card. Use your 14 digit barcode (no spaces), located on your library card, to access these databases from home.
